The Refuge at 3901 S Wayne Ave is being transformed into a safe, welcoming place for immigrant and refugee families in Fort Wayne and you can help make that possible by sponsoring a room.
We’re inviting individuals, families, churches, and businesses to partner with us by outfitting and preparing rooms for incoming families.
Your sponsorship helps provide:
Furniture – beds, dressers, couches, dining tables
Renovations – fresh paint, new flooring, lighting updates
Essentials – linens, cookware, cleaning supplies
Shared space upgrades – kitchens, bathrooms, and living areas

Short-term housing for up to 8 immigrant and refugee families
Office and coworking space for nonprofits and mission-driven groups
Classrooms and daycare space for language and life-skills programs
A hub for cultural celebration and community building

On June 4, 2025, President Trump issued a Presidential Proclamation restricting the entry of foreign nationals from entering the United States. The full ban applies to 12 countries: Afghanistan, Myanmar, Chad, the Republic of Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, and Yemen. Learn more here.
On June 12, 2025, USCIS initiated removal proceedings against 26,700 undocumented immigrants since February, ramping up enforcement efforts under President Trump’s January executive order on immigration. For more information, click here.
