A New Parking Lot!

We’re thrilled to share that our parking lot has been completely resurfaced! This improvement not only gives The Refuge a fresh new look but also makes it safer and more welcoming for everyone who visits.

This past weekend was incredible—over 25 volunteers came out to lend a hand. Together, we were able to paint five rooms and complete work on three apartments! Thank you to everyone who showed up with energy and heart—you’re helping bring The Refuge to life in a big way.

Immigration Updates

Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for VenezuelansOn October 3, 2025, the U.S. Supreme Court allowed the administration to end Temporary Protected Status for over 300,000 Venezuelan nationals. Those affected could lose protection once DHS issues termination notices.

New Citizenship Test – October 20, 2025Starting October 20, naturalization applicants must answer 12 of 20 questions correctly from a pool of 128. The revised exam emphasizes U.S. history and civic understanding.

USCIS Payment Update – October 29, 2025As of October 28, 2025, USCIS will no longer accept personal checks or money orders for filing immigration applications. Payments must instead be made using ACH debit via Form G-1650 (from a U.S. bank account) or credit card via Form G-1450.
